Gabrielle Orr
PhD Candidate
Gabrielle is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian in Tāmaki-Makaurau. She is passionate about supporting parents to raise children who have a life-long healthy relationship with food and their bodies. She has worked as the Raising Healthy Kids Dietitian for Auckland and Waitematā District Health Board, Clinical Dietitian for Starship Community and for the Healthy Babies, Healthy Futures programme. In these roles she advocated for a holistic approach in addressing children’s health and wellbeing.

Dr Amy Lovell
NZRD, PhD (Lecturer, FMHS)
Dr Amy Lovell completed her PhD research in Nutrition at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences in 2019. She currently lectures to undergraduate Science, Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, and postgraduate Dietetics students. Amy is a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) and Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) specialising in early childhood nutrition and ensuring children have the best start to a lifetime of confident eating. Amy is an oncology dietitian at the Starship Blood and Cancer Centre (ADHB) and is currently investigating the nutritional impact of a childhood cancer diagnosis during treatment and into survivorship.

Dr Sarah Gerritsen
Senior Research Fellow
Dr Sarah Gerritsen is a social scientist working in the fields of public health nutrition and child health. She is Associate Director of New Zealand’s largest longitudinal study Growing Up in New Zealand, and also undertakes research about equitable food environments, nutrition policies and food security. Sarah led the review and update of the 2020/21 maternal, infant and toddler dietary guidelines for the Ministry of Health, and a review of policies for improving fruit and vegetable intake globally for the United Nations FAO and World Health Organization. Her PhD (2018) investigated the impact of early childhood education on obesity prevention.
